Nha
Trang City
The 7 km white sand beach of Nha Trang is
often called Vietnam’s Mediterranean Nha Trang is sunny all year
round, with an average temperature of 23°C due to northern
winds. The rainfall is less than anywhere else in the country
and the area is not threatened by storms since the Truong Son
Mountains and Ca Pass protect it. From Ca Pass, one can see Ro
Paddle, Ke Ga Cape, Hon Do, and Tran Nam Paddle. Nha Trang
benefits from topographical advantages of the sea, islands,
mountains, and deltas. West of Nha Trang, there are endless
mountain ranges where a wide variety of animals and birds live.
Trang has many specialties. Every year, bird’s nest soup, or Yen
nest soup, is cooked. Nha Trang has the most Yen birds in all of
Vietnam. The magnificent coral seabed in Nha Trang makes it
ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling. When speaking of Nha
Trang, people always mention its beaches in the first place (the
front beach in Nha Trang is 6 km long) where vacationers can
enjoy sea and sun bathing The city of Nha Trang has long been
renowned for being a sea resort with plenty of historical
vestiges and wonderful sceneries: Cham Po Nagar Towers, Long Son
Pagoda, Ba Vu Mausoleum, Bao Dai's Palace, Hon Chong, Hon Yen,
Tri Nguyen Fishpond, Bai Tru, Suoi Tien, Dai Lanh Beach.... and
a great many islets offshore. Most famous perhaps is Po Nagar
Towers. This is a structure of baked bricks built as early as
the 7th Century but reputably fixed up throughout the ages until
the 12th Century. The tallest and biggest tower was devoted to
Lady Po Nagar the statue of who has ten arms gently stretching
out as if the goddess was dancing. These towers marked the most
glorious time of the Cham history.

Po
Nagar Cham Towers
Eight Po Nagar Cham Towers were built on
Cu
Lao marble hill, 2 km north of Nha Trang, between the 8th and
13th centuries. The largest of the four remaining towers was
built in honor of Po Nagar, also known as Lady Thien Y-ana or
Goddess Mother; she spent part of her life teaching new weaving
and agricultural techniques. The 22.5 m tower contains her
sandstone statue sitting cross-legged on Buddha's throne. The
2.6 m statue has ten hands, each holding a specific object
illustrating the intellect and power of Buddha. The remaining
towers were dedicated to different gods: the central tower to
Cri Cambhu, the northwest towers to Sandhaka and the south tower
to Ganesha. Not only are the towers famous for their
architecture and sculpture, but also they are also well known
for their great significance in history, nationalism, and
archaeology. Standing on the top of the hill, one can admire the
beautiful landscapes of the coastal region of Nha Trang. Hon of
the sea, islands, mountains, and deltas. An endless range of
mountains is located west of Nha Trang; a wide variety of
animals and birds live in the mountains where one can hunt.
